Years ago we were in Grindelwald and had taken the train up through the mountain to Jungfrau.  We were told not to walk across the glacier due to an avalanche warning, so went to the cafe instead.   Later, John Jelinek and myself - dressed for the Antarctic and already telling ourselves we had altitude sickness, suddenly saw this lone figure appearing across the glacier, strolling along, hands in pockets in nothing but his walking trousers and shirt! Yes, that was John who always managed to make even the most difficult walk look like a stroll in the park!  Cheers John!
